Quote of the Day

There are moments when one has to choose between living one's own life, fully, entirely, completely - or dragging out some false, shallow, degrading existence that the world in it's hypocrisy demands.

Faith - It’s Hard To Keep

A few posts ago I wrote about how important it was for us to keep our faith, our faith in humanity, God, religion, even ourselves. Ironically, today I was tested and I wish I could say I passed.

I had an interview today and the only thing missing was something I have no control over. What depresses me is that I can’t change one thing, and God had to take that one thing away from me.

This isn’t the first time this has ever happened. Oh no, may the earth be smitten by God’s wrath the day that ever happens. Every single time I dearly want something there are always huge boulders in my way. I know this may sound exaggerated, but trust me its true. As soon as I realize that I want something, the first thought that comes to my mind is, “I should want it less, because if I truly desire it, it’ll probably never come true”. If only I had listened to the voices in the back of my head.

So how does this all relate to faith? How does my bad luck have anything to do with your life? I don’t really know the answer to the second question, but what I can tell you is that it helps us (at least me) better understand faith, and why so many people have stopped believing.

People give up hope because they no longer trust that things are going to be OK. Every single time something bad happens, it king of cuts off a piece of string that we call hope, and in the end when the string keeps on getting cut without it being allowed to grow, what’s left is so small that it is insignificant.

I know might sound cliché but I truly do not deserve this, especially at this time. As you might know, I’ve been working at the Mander for a few weeks now. I’ve been spiritually and morally making myself better. I started to have faith in religion once again. But then along came disaster and killed it all. Can you blame a person for doing everything right but getting everything wrong? Can you blame a weary wanderer for following the road but still end up lost?

I don’t know.

No, there’s no one to blame. I don’t know about Faith, but my attitude to everything is that it was meant to happen. It helps me deal with things when they go wrong, and helps me deal with things when they unexpectedly and shockingly go right!

I agree greatly with Gurdits comment. In my opinion i believe things happen for a reason. You say you began to believe in your religion once again and you were just tested again, tests are given to you to see how you will do. You say you failed but the fact that you know you failed is what shows how much you have grown. Most people dont see the great things in theyre lives until they are gone. For example a man never notices how great his wife really is until he does something wrong to her. Or how good your friends really are until something shitty happens to you and theyre there to save you. Well if you lose faith in your religion maybe its because you dont believe it anymore if you are truly religious you believe in it through and through. You see tests and despite the outcome of them you still believe whether its you crashing and burning or you passing with flying colors you believe you say this is what happened and i believe it happened for a reason. So read other books just to read them the bible, quran, torah this is where u begin all great religions are based on more or less the same morals. Im not telling you to go convert or anything just read they will help you find something inside of you and help you see the path that is paved for you. It may help you believe in your own religion more and next time you have a test like the one you just failed youll be stronger and even if you do fail it youll be able to take it and still believe in what you believe in without losing “faith”. And sooner or later youll get stronger and these tests will be nothing to you but something to look forward to because you want to see how strong you really are or how youve come from the point where you used to fail.

You believed you would fail, and you did. Believe that you will succeed and you will. The power is all within you.

Read “The Secret” and change your life.
