The way I see it…
I feel we should all try to put things in perspective. We may feel like our lives are cluttered and busy with annoyances and troubles but we really that bad off? And… to answer that rhetorical question, no we are not that bad off.
I don’t have an ideal vacation or getaway. What do I have to get away from? My education? Why would I want to get away from something that will carry with me throughout life and benefit me wherever I go? I should embrace it and want to be here; want to learn. How about my family? No again. Sure, they may bother me at times but regardless of what happens now, they will always be there in the future. Again, we should embrace our family and want to be with them no matter how you feel about them right now because those bad feelings don’t last forever. These are just two examples off the top of my head… but I think you get the point.
I think that most people don’t realize that they are already on a vacation. What is the problem with what we have? We are all fortunate and lucky to have what we have so why should we run away from it all? I’ve definitely gone off on my own little tangent here… but all I am saying is that we need to put things in perspective.
Another thing… why can’t you just go do that stuff? Go buy a bike and do all that you want to do in this post? If you really want to and really feel like that is the ideal getaway, then go do it. What in the world is stopping you?
What is so bad that you are trying to get away from?

What stops me is education, family, life on the whole opposes the execution of this lovely plan.
I’m trying to get away from this busy-ness, this unnecessary spending of your life learning education. It sometimes seems all in vain, like I’m destined to sit in an office doing the same old bullshit day in and day out. I don’t want to be like that, I want to join like the Peace Corps or something, somewhere where I can help humanity.

What stops you from doing that - joining the Peace Corps or something? Even if you feel there is no way you could leave because you must go to school, look around where you are. I am sure there is something you could do to “help humanity.” My husband and I used to deliver “Meals on Wheel”. Surely there’s something you could find.
And you are not destined to sit in an office unless that is what you truly want, even if at times it may feel like it. Sounds to me like you should spend some time with the books and people who will help you find what your calling in life is and figure out a way to follow that. If you need some titles, give me a shout.

I can’t because I’m only 16 and they dont let you join the Peace Corps until your 18. Additionally, my family would never allow it.
I don’t know what I want to be, there’s so much out there that it’s hard to decide. Plus everything is so politically motivated.

Guess that’s when doing something where you live is a good way to start. Besides, there’ll come the day, sooner than you think, when your family will not have final say in what you do.
Of course you don’t know what you want to do!! Another wonderful thing about being your age with all that is available now.
Start trying different things. What do you do in the summer when out of school? Try some apprentice work in the trades. You may find the last thing you ever want to do is dig ditches or work as an electrician or plumber. Happened to my husband. One summer job was digging ditches. After that summer last thing he ever wanted was that type of physically hard job. He loves engineering and that’s what he is. Was always messing with electronics as a kid.
Stop looking at the politics. Talk about negative. What do you like - drawing, taking things apart, helping animals, etc? There are so many possibilities that that is where the real problem lies, imho. Just an abundance of choice.
What type of books do you read? I realize you probably have a lot of schoolwork to do now but can you add in a book a month. Have you read the Rich Dad books or Tim Ferris’ 4 Hour Work Week? There are so many more! (In case you can’t tell, I love books.)
Go check out my latest post. It was so funny it came up today in my journaling after posting here. I was thinking of you when writing parts of it.
